As my children approached adulthood, they seemed to become more and more impatient with life at home.  It seemed like they were like our pet dog when he had been coped up in the house too long.  Any outside door that was opened our dog managed to dash away only to come back again in a few hours.  With our kids it seemed as if they had had too much of us and wanted to get away forever.  Surprisingly, when they reached about 23 or 24 little by little they started hanging out at our home again--sometimes on the weekend or on holidays.  They started calling and wanting to go on vacation with us.  So yes, we let them go but they seemed to come back again.  Sweet music.
