This piece was inspired from a hectic day where I felt like I was pulled in different directions. My goal seemed to check off each responsibility and as I finishned something I would think,'there's another monkey off my back.' I named the piece 'Ignoring the monkeys on her back' because some days I don't want to do all the tasks that are part of my life and I try to do anything to avoid them.
This piece is made from stoneware clay and fired iwith underglazes, glazes and oxides at cone 04. The base is wood with an old spool. |
